Dual Credit Competencies - PC3

Dual Credit Scholarship Info

State Framework

Washington STARS (State Training and Registry System) is a career development system for those who work in child care and early education, and school-age care.  All family child care providers, child care and school-age center directors, program supervisor, lead teachers and site coordinators are required to complete the 20-hour basic training within 6 months of being employed or licensed.  After meeting the 20-hour requirement, 10 hours of continuing education is required annually. Training meets STARS requirements if provided by a STARS approved trainer or training organization, or is a college class designed to meet the STARS requirements.

Henderson Bay High School offers a STARS program. Students earning a grade of "B" or better on 100% of the competencies are eligible to apply for dual credit through the Pierce County Careers Connection (PC3 - link at left).
