Marketing I - GHHS
This course is designed to give a
general understanding of the world of business. The main
areas of focus will include; marketing functions, identification, and
strategies, human resource foundations and the selling process.
Students will also be given the opportunity to be a
member of the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA).
Course Objectives:
· Explain marketing
functions and related activities
· Explore the concept of market, market identification, and
marketing strategies
· Define channels of distribution of goods and services
· Foster development of human resource foundations including
using feedback for personal
growth, adjusting to change, appropriate personal appearance,
personality traits
important for business, and maintaining a positive attitude
· Demonstrate understanding of the selling process including
opening the sales
presentation, questioning for information, and suggesting
product substitutions when
appropriate
· Demonstrate understanding of feature/benefit selling,
product demonstration, handling
customer objections, and closing the sale
Dual
Credit: Students
who successfully complete Marketing I and Marketing II, with a
grade of
“B” or higher for both classes, are eligible to register for college
credit. This exciting opportunity allows students to earn up to 10
credits by completing both classes while still attending Gig Harbor High
