Computer Software Applications I

This course prepares students to master software applications in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet, as well as strengthening keyboarding skills.  Instruction addresses using and applying a variety of these applications such as formatting tables and charts using formulas, spreadsheets, design tools, creating presentations, using efficient Internet search strategies, navigating the web, and critically evaluating and documenting web sources. Students will create presentations to communicate and graphically represent data.  It is suggested that students take this course early on to better prepare for success in other high school courses requiring research or computer skills, or for those considering more advanced technology courses.  Students earning a grade of "B" or better, and meet 100% of the competencies may be eligible to register for dual credit through PC3.
