This assignment requires the gathering, writing, and presenting of science information found in the news media.

Find
an article or news story that deals with a science topic.
Here are some good sources.
Publications: The
News Tribune, Time, Newsweek
Websites:

http://news.yahoo.com/science,
www.sciencedaily.com,
www.space.com
· Read the article carefully.
·
Complete a
write-up that includes the following four parts.
Number each part and skip a line between them.
1. Author’s name, if given (last name first).
“Title” (in quotes).
Name of Newspaper, Magazine, Program, or Website (underlined).
Date of the story.
2. Write a paragraph or two that tells what
the article is about.
Use your own words to summarize and explain the story.
3. List three facts contained in the article. Use complete sentences.
4. Write a reaction paragraph that
expresses your thoughts and feelings about the content of the story.
Do not react to how it was written or whether you like the topic.
You can use these questions as guides:
Is it important? How does it make you feel?
How might it affect you, the lives of others, the future?
How should we respond to this information?
