Literary Devices & Test Directions: Lord of the Flies terms
This assignment MUST be completed in class.
1. Head your paper with the following title: “Literary Terms Application.”
2. Define each of the terms listed on the board. Be sure to leave about ½ page between each definition, as you will be adding to it substantially.
3. Explain, in your own words, a section in the novel that contains the literary device you have defined. Give a detailed explanation.
4. Pull an exact quote from the text that illustrates the term you have chosen and explain it. Include an internal citation after the quotation.
5. Finally, explain how the example and quote you used is a good representation of the term.
Please have me grade each term before you move on to the next. I will indicate whether you have passed/mastered the objective or need to re-do it.
