Objectives for Goal Setting - 1st Semester

Oral Language

 

§         To give and seek information in conversations and group discussions/activities

§         To communicate ideas/information in an organized and succinct manner

§         To make supportive statements to communicate agreement with or acceptance of others’ ideas

§         To use grammatically correct language, including vocabulary, and tone appropriate to the audience, topic, and purpose

§         To use appropriate eye contact with audience during oral presentations

§         To use appropriate hand gestures and body language during presentations

§         To use appropriate volume and pace during oral presentations

§         To develop and deliver oral presentations in groups and individually

§         To adapt presentation to fit literary form

Reading

§         To read and follow instructions to complete an assigned task

Writing

§         To use a variety of sentence patterns

§         To maintain consistent verb tense across paragraphs

§         To maintain subject-verb agreement

§         To apply the rules for use of the comma, semi-colon, and colon

§         To organize information in correct paragraph format

§         To arrange paragraphs into a logical progression

§         To communicate clearly the purpose of the writing

§         To elaborate ideas clearly through word choice and vivid description

§         To use vocabulary and tone appropriate to the audience, topic, and purpose
