A.  Read and outline pages 375, 376 and 378-384 in your textbook (skip the section The Italian States), be sure to include the box “Science, Technology and Society” on page 380. then outline from 385-401. You do not have to write summaries.

B.   Based on this information, complete the following RAFT:

Role: Your role is that of a Renaissance era writer

Audience: Your audience is young Renaissance nobles who are just beginning their formal educations

Format: Your format is that of a Renaissance era handbook

Topic: This handbook should attempt to describe the times that your audience is living in and help them to understand what is expected of them and other various parts of society. Be sure to include the following:

1.       An original title

2.       Seven distinct sections covering: Important characteristics of the Renaissance, Renaissance politics, society, the impact of printing, education during the Renaissance, Renaissance humanism, Renaissance art and vernacular literature, and the Reformation.

3.       Focus on describing the developments, ideas, and beliefs of the Renaissance as well as making sure that new words are understood.

     II.      Evaluation

A.  The RAFT part of this assignment should be type written and turned in separately from the Interactive Notebook.

B.   Be sure to follow all rules of grammar and normal style and usage.
