Group Work

You will be reading 3 selections about life in the Middle Ages. For each passage your group will produce the following:

  1. a brief, written summary of the article
  2. values/beliefs that relate to those from the Middle Ages
  3. quotes that support/display those values/beliefs
  4. MLA work cited info.
  5. MLA internal citations info.
  6. be able to explain and support the information you give to the class

Process

Each group member will read at least one paragraph in each selection

After each paragraph discuss which, if any, values/beliefs from the Middle Ages were evident.  Then, lightly underline, in pencil, the quote(s) you found -  write #1 next to the 1st one then on your piece of paper indicate the value/belief it represents. (Repeat process for quotes 2 and 3). After the entire article has been read then go back and write down the quote next to the value.

Choose one member to write the summary for that article.  All members will discuss what info. should be included.  Use a note dictation style. (I’ll explain)

While the summary is being written the other three members will write down the quotes, MLA info. and make an extra copy for the summary writer.

You have 50 minutes to read, discuss & write your responses to these articles.  Then we will begin discussion.

* Groups NOT following directions will have the option of doing this work individually.
