FLOW CHART: THE LATER MIDDLE AGES

 

I. ASSIGNMENT

A. Actively read (highlight and margin note) the “Impact of the Crusades.”

 

B. On a standard piece of printer paper create a flow chart which provides details about the specific changes and effects that occurred as a result of the Crusades.

 

C. Remember, the objective of a flow chart is to show the specific cause and effect relationships among historical events. Therefore, arrange your topics based on how one caused another to produce further effects.  Draw arrows to indicate the specific cause/effect relationships among the various events.

 

D. Provide a title for your flow chart, clear subtitles for your various topics, and specific details listed under each subtitle to fully explain the topic.

 

E. Emphasize key points and relationships with the use of color and designs.

 

F. At the bottom of your flow chart explain whether or not the following is a reasonable conclusion that might be drawn from the information:  “The Crusades acted as a wedge that ultimately undermined medieval society.”

 

II. ASSESSMENT

A. Evaluation will be based on accuracy, clarity of design, and critical thinking.

B. Due at the beginning of next class.
