You will be delivering your research information in a verbal presentation, which will also include visuals. You must
prepare a lesson plan as follows:
1. Guiding question pts
2. Thesis pts
Specific, grammatically correct, proper spelling, punctuation, word choice
3. Attention-getter pts
Creative device to focus class attention upon your topic. Goal is to create
interest, suspense, drama. Examples: use music, startling statistics, unusual
visuals, question audience, dramatic entrance of some kind, costuming.
4. Plan for delivery of information pts
Presentation of information and conclusions reached following your research.
Examples: traditional speech, using note cards, or even overhead, listing main points; present original video; write a skit or play. Goal is for class to discover the conclusions you reached during your research. Your goal is not to restate your entire paper and certainly not to read it to us!
5. If you plan to involve your audience pts
Must be creative, but must reinforce what you taught during #4 above. Should
prove classmates have learned the main ideas of your research and
conclusions you reached. Examples: games, writing activities, such as poetry, fables, class or small-group discussions, role-playing, etc.
6. Plan for visual/s pts
May be a rough sketch of plan/s for visual/s. (More is better here.) Visuals may be “nontraditional,” such as props, costuming, even food (if pertinent to your topic). If using any of these, simply indicate such by describing your ideas in words. However at least one visual must be a traditional poster large enough to be seen at the back of the class, which includes the following:
a. Title, using thesis
b. Main ideas supporting thesis
c. Color
7. List of materials pts
Make a list, indicating every item needed to complete presentation successfully.
