Monday 11/9
Reading
Read up to 20 minutes
a day. Practice using our reading strategies. Choose one to
focus on. The reading strategies we have been practicing in
class are: 1. Go back and reread. 2. Check for understanding
(who and what), 3. Making connections with the text. 4. Cross
checking (does it look right, sound right, make sense) 5. Flip
the sound. 6. Vivid Mental Images. Fill out the
reading response sheet (you do not need to tell which reading
strategy you practiced) and return Thursday, Nov. 12. The
children are improving in retelling using who and what. Thank
you for your support!
Tuesday 11/10– Math Unit
2 Surveys and Line Plots. Learning targets for this new unit
are: 1. I can describe, summarize, and interpret data
from a bar graph. 2. I can collect and organize data using a
bar graph, pictograph and/or line plot. 3. I can construct
and analyze bar graphs, pictographs, and/or line plots.
Please do pages 13-14 Graph interpretation (review).
Wednesday 11/11
– NO SCHOOL Work
Work. Group A Sort 14
Short o and Long o,
CVCe and CVVC, Group B Sort 19 Short A and Long A (CVCe,
CVVC-AI and Open Syllable AY), Group C Sort 26 ER, EAR,
EER, Group D Sort 8 How words change when adding –ion.
Cut words out and sort them into groups. (No paper to turn in
as it is Veteran’s Day).

– Study for Spelling Best
