Pacific Northwest History
This course is primarily designed for students who have moved to the area without having already taken a regional history course at a previous high school.
Goals of the Course:
Students will be well-equipped to make good decisions based on background knowledge of regional issues, communities, cultures, and economics.
Students will gain knowledge of the values of various groups in the region's past.
Students will gain knowledge of how conflicts have been handled throughout the region.

Projects: For the final project, each student will select a contemporary controversial issue, explain the background information create a script of an argument including various points of view, defend his or her opinion, and create a persuasive magazine ad. This project will be due at the beginning of the last class the week before the semester ends. Click here to see instructions for last year's project.
