Web 2.0: the
Read/Write Web
The biggest change in web use over
recent years has been the advent of Web 2.0. More than half of our students
create content of their own on the web on websites, blogs
and social networking sites. This article has more results from the PEW study:

Wikipedia is one
example of the way Web 2.0 works. Content can be added by anyone and edited by
anyone. The editors then check for accuracy. A more personalized version of the
concept is the wiki. A wiki can be set up for free by any educator and can be
used to enhance classroom practice and communication. Here’s more on the tools
on Web 2.0 by David Jakes in wiki format:

Jakes has a wiki
page with links to information on best practice using Web 2.0 features:

The links on this
page go to AP Calculus examples of Web 2.0 in practice:

This link leads you
to an example of a tag sharing site called del.icio.us.
I hope to begin using del.icio.us as a
format for sharing important links with the staff. The links on this page lead
to more examples of Web 2.0 best practice.
